From Dated and Drab Primary Bath…to Luxury Spa

Two rooms in every home will always reflect the need for a refresh/update. They are the kitchen and the primary bath.

25-30 years ago, this primary bath was all the rage. The corner, deep soaking tub with jacuzzi jets, allowing one to luxuriate in a swirling bath, were considered THE thing. The deck surrounding the tub was meant for wine glasses and candles. The “new” SPA BATH was having its heyday.

I love a project like this.

When you think about it, the primary bath is more than just a room with sinks, shower and commode. It is literally the private launch pad for the start of every day. How we feel about that launch pad…can have a significant impact on the quality of our lives.

“How do you want this space to make you feel?”

It’s a question I ask every client about the rooms we are focusing on, BEFORE, we start making any decisions about actual selections.

In this case, our conversations led me to find out that my clients were avid hikers and nature lovers. They talked about how much they loved camping under the stars. They even mentioned loving an outdoor shower.

Bingo!

That conversation became this new fully glassed-in shower, surrounded by an all-natural garden. Every day began by enjoying one of their favorite loves without backpacking anywhere.

Another part of the conversation was about creating a bath that felt especially warm and cozy. Nothing makes toes happier than installing floor tile with radiant heat. And heated towel bars can turn a simple towel into a warm hug.

Done. And…Done.

SPA–AH-AH-AH!!!

When you have the chance to really think about how YOU want to feel….living in your personal space....renovation truly becomes transformation.
